Adopt a Patient

Each year at Christmas we try to make sure that every patient receives at least one gift to open on Christmas Day. Many patients have not received a gift for years. It truly makes their day and make them feel like they are not completely forgotten by society. We encourage people to include a personal card or perhaps a picture. Children’s drawings are always appreciated as well.

Their wishes are usually Small and very easy to fulfil. They include items such as personal hygiene items and perhaps a pair of socks and a sweater and a movie or music. This is a wonderful way to teach your children and family about the true spirit of kindness. To be able to give to someone who truly has nothing.

In addition to personal wish lists we also have approximately 100 patients who needs a generic gift. For these patients we do not have an name or an age. This could be due to privacy issues at their particular hospital or other reasons.

One of our hospitals have sent in their wish list! See the “Personal Care Items” list. Personal wish lists coming soon!

If you are preparing a gift with the “Personal Case Items” items please clearly mark if the bag is for a male or a female patient and although no name is included a personal drawing or card would be greatly appreciated.

Bonus items would be things such as iTunes cards, Tim Hortons gift cards, nail polish or nail polish remover, perhaps a scarf or socks. You may include chocolates or other snacks but please do not wrap the gift as some patients are not able to eat and we will distribute to those who are able to.

If you are interested in adopting a patient or setting up a collection at your school or place of work please email us for information.

Thank you so much for your support.
